Sensor Signal Lab

Sensor Signal Lab (SSL) is a dynamic and high performance application designed to make breakthrough changes in how operators currently learn, plan and employ sensors. The prototype that will be built under the Phase II SBIR is neither a ‘game’ nor a mod/simulation tool: it is designed to support learning the art of optimal sensor placement given a wide variety of environmental challenges. The increased flexibility and capability of this application will enhance and increase the ability of operators to task, position and visualize each sensor both at a classroom/training level and operationally.
Building upon the lessons learned from InVisM’s award winning technology (seen with both GeoCommander and GeoStorm), Sensor Signal Lab is unique and innovative in its approach. Additionally, SSL will have the capability to import other data formats to provide other programs enhanced visualization of sensor and signal characteristics.
Its focus on the ‘why, when and how’ systems should be employed strengthens both the cognitive and analytic thinking of operators and provides a critical linkage between concept and functionality.
